problem with clients deleting multiple msg's

clients outlook 2000

on the client side when a user or myself for that matter tries to move or delete multiple msg's at one time outlook hangs. I believe this is a problem on the the server side but im not sure. Any input appreciated.

i saw on on microsoft.public.exchange.clients about running perfomance optimizer

anyone else run into this?

Are You running any 3rd party "exchange" services, ie Fax or virus applications.
There have previously been reports that especially Fax addon's to Exchange could cause this behaviour. Try to stop the Extra Services, and see if the problem resolves.

I have begin to experience the same problems after applying the Exchange SP3, and NT SP6. hopefully someone can help figure it out. I am going to apply the 'current' NT SP6 (a) and see if that works. someone told me that there was the same problem that was addressed/fixed with the exchange sp2 patch. my clients are outlook 97/98.
