hi
I am fairly new to the NT world but I have been reading and playing and I have gotten a good grasp of it.

I have an in house LAN with 2 NT 4.0 servers; 1 running Proxy 2.0 and 1 running Exchange 5.0 for my 3 clients (NT 4.0, Win 98, Win 3.11)

Recently I bought a game with TCP capablities. Within my network it is fine. A game through the proxy server to the internet is not.

I found info at:

http://home.earthlink.net/~rpitman/proxy.htm
and
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q240/4/29.ASP

Both sites told me the same thing:

Add protocol "DirectPlay (client)" under Protocols tab.
Initial connection
47624 TCP Outbound
Subsequent connections
2300-2400 TCP Inbound
2300-2400 TCP Outbound
2300-2400 UDP Inbound
2300-2400 UDP Outbound

The only place I have to test this is at microsoft's zone.com

When a game is started I get the error "Can Not Initialize Lobby Connection"

From what I've read basicly this means that I am running the game through a proxy server and there is a problem.

I actually found a MS artical (#Q26429) on this and it says to remove the proxy server from the equastion. (dumb answer)

any way, if any one can point me in a direction I would appreciate it

thanx
