Has anyone installed Exchange SP3 on an NT cluster server? If so, what are the procedures and how long did it leave the Exchange services down? I'm needing to install SP3 on two NT cluster servers. Please help.

Hi Chris.

We installed Exchange SP3 on a 2-node Cluster system with no issues and very little down-time.

We took the 2nd node off-line and installed the Service Pack on the cluster.

We then brought the second node back on-line and installed the service pack on the Cluster again.

This took a minimal amount of time and did not affect user usage of Exchange.

Thanks for responding, Dave. Was the 2nd node (the one you took offline) in control of the cluster at the time? Did you run the update program on both individual machines? I finally decided to install SP3 but there were three dlls that could not be opened. Did you have any problem with that?
