I am currently running RIS in my test environment and things are actually running pretty well. I am looking for a way so that when the RIS client installation wizard repartitions the drive and formats it. I would like to create a partition at a specified size. My understanding is that if I use the UseWholeDisk = No setting that it will create the partition of the source computer the same size of the system partition on the RIS server. I haven’t gotten that to work. But I would like to set a size to have more flexibility.

Thank you
Matt Winer

Check the deploy folder on the W2K cd and look in toolsdeploy there is documentation on the parameters of the .sif file with a fairly good explanation of the different options and syntax.
You should be able to specify what size partition you want.

Unfortunatly there is nothing in the documentation that I have found to have the ability to set the partition size.

Thanks,
Matt

We use a util called diskpart.exe to partition the drives during the ris process.

I haven't tried that, but according to M$ you just specify the value in increments of 1024 if you want 8GB partition value=8192 if it is the ExtendOemPartition = 8192 ( I cant remember off hand which key it is.formula is 8x1024=8192)
