I'm ordering a new Exchange server. I'm a bit confused about Tape B/U hardware.
What is best DAT, DLT or Travan? Pros and Cons? I current have a Sony 7000 DAT for my main file server.
The new server will have a Raid 5 (3* 18 gig) HD's. But I would be happy with a 24Gig capacity.

I would suggest buying a DLT 7000 drive or a DLT 7000 autoloader. The DLT 7000 is one of the fastest drives out right now. We are running a RAID 5 with 15 8G drives. Our information store is over 100G in size. It takes about 6 hours to backup up the Information store. It only takes two tapes at them moment. The DLT 7000 is a very impressive drive, IMHO, and your best route to go if you can afford it.

We have Dell Servers with Dell 120T Autoloaders. Actually the autoloaders were OEM'd from ADIC.
